The 3rd Annual Reach for the Stars Childcare Conference brought together childcare professionals from across the region to focus on strengthening relationships with childcare programs through high-quality training and professional development. With over 200 attendees, including childcare administrators, directors, teachers, providers, and support staff, this conference was a hub for learning, growth, and collaboration.
On November 13, RGV DADS and Jesus T. Peña, M.Ed., were officially approved by Texas Early Childhood Professional Development Systems (TECPDS), ensuring compliance with the organization’s trainer requirements and reaffirming our commitment to professional excellence.
I had the honor of serving as the keynote speaker, presenting on the topic: Modern Fatherhood: A Legacy of Positive Generational Change. My presentation explored the vital role fathers play in the family dynamic and how their involvement can create lasting, positive impacts on their families and communities. Through a blend of quantitative and qualitative data, attendees learned about the work dads in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond are doing to transform their lives and those of their loved ones.
The session also provided actionable insights for childcare providers and facilities on how to engage fathers effectively, leveraging their involvement to foster healthy familial outcomes. It was truly inspiring to share this message with a room full of dedicated professionals who are shaping the future of childcare and family support.
Attendees earned professional development hours for their participation, furthering their credentials and expertise in early childhood care.
A heartfelt thank you to Region One Early Childhood Intervention and the Region One Education Service Center for the opportunity to present and engage with such a passionate audience. Together, we are building a brighter future for our families and communities.
RGV DADS is dedicated to supporting fathers and their pivotal role in strengthening family bonds.
