This past Saturday, January 11, 2025, Driscoll Health Plan hosted an incredible Sensory Friendly Night with the RGV Vipers, and it was a memorable evening for families with special needs in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV). The event brought together our community to enjoy basketball in an inclusive and welcoming environment, while connecting families to valuable resources and services.
Highlights of the Evening
🕔 Early Entry for a Calm Start
Families with special needs appreciated the early entry at 5:00 PM, which provided a peaceful and accommodating atmosphere to settle in before the game began.
🎧 Noise-Canceling Headsets
To ensure everyone felt comfortable, noise-canceling headsets were made available for children who might be overstimulated by the crowd noise. These headsets were offered at no cost and were a huge hit among families.
🧘 Quiet Spaces and Sensory Activities
The quiet space and sensory-friendly activities were thoughtfully designed to give attendees a chance to relax and recharge. Families expressed their gratitude for this dedicated area, which truly enhanced the experience.
🏆 A Big Win for the RGV Vipers
The evening ended on a high note as the RGV Vipers secured a thrilling victory, adding to the excitement of the night. Fans were ecstatic to see their team bring home the win!
